Anamélia is originally from Brazil but grew up in Sweden before moving to London. Because of her job and psychic powers, she says that she finds it easy to read people. She can “see things in them others can’t.”

She says that her confidence is often mistaken for arrogance.  Ignorance irritates her, as do people who do not respect personal space.

She’s dated both men and women in the past. Her first relationship was with a woman. Her biggest achievement is arriving in the UK with £30 in her pocket and building a life for herself.

Why are you taking part in Big Brother?
There are two things – one, I want to learn more about myself because it is going to be very challenging. I am usually like, not a loner, but I like my own space. So this is going to be quite challenging. Two, I kind of want to show people there is another way of living, because I am very spiritual, so I want to showcase that. Not everyone has to be the same. Different is good.

What will you bring to the House?
I am hoping to bring some positivity for sure. I am hoping to maybe help people to ground themselves more. I feel I am pretty grounded, so I hope to inspire them and help them.

Are you a Big Brother fan?
Yes, I do watch the show.

Do you have any favorite Big Brother Housemates?
I like anyone who is authentic. I don’t care if you are loud or whatever, as long as you are you. What makes me uncomfortable are people who are passive-aggressive or pretend to be someone they are not and it comes out. I am a very direct person, so if you have a problem with me, tell me straightaway and we can squash it and talk about it. But if you harbour feelings for too long and you drop something and blow, I’m not comfortable with that. That is a nightmare, because I am very direct. If I have a problem with you now I will tell you now. Rather than wait. Wait for what? You may die in five minutes.

What will you miss the most from the outside world?
Music, and sage. I love saging (the art of burning sage to shift energy into a calmer, happier state). Also, my tarot cards, and anything spiritual – my incense and stuff. And chocolate, and being able to decide exactly what I want to eat. I am a massive foodie.

What is your favourite possession?
My brain.

Anything you would not do on camera?
Have sex. It doesn’t matter if you sent in Idris Elba, I won’t have sex in the House, no way.

What can we expect from you as a Housemate?
I am very direct. I am not mean, I am not an aggressive person, but I am direct. Positive, I see the good in people. I look at people with compassionate eyes because I read people well. I see what they have gone through. I will be the nurturer and the psychologist. The one everyone comes to talk to.

How would you go about winning Big Brother?
By being myself and following my intuition. Being honest.
